It's not a "great movie", as if "best of" lists, but "When Strangers Appear" has some of the greatest twists and turns of any film I've seen. And, I've seen a vast amount of movies. Every time I watch it, I'm amazed at how skillfully everyone works together.

The stars are Radha Mitchell, Barry Watson and Josh Lucas. The whole cast is impressive in this film that I would label Hitchcockian, down to the necessary McGuffin.

Others that would make my list are:
Casablanca~We all know how it ends, but who would have guessed the first time that it would end that way?
Planet of the Apes (the original)
Psycho (1960)
Rosemary's Baby
Vertigo
Soylent Green~"Soylent Green is people!"
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (original and Seventies remake)
The Devil's Advocate
The Prestige
Diva
The Ninth Gate
The Minus Man
Secret Window
The Crying Game
The Return (2006)
Games
Deathtrap
Roadgames
Link
Race With the Devil
Count Yorga, Vampire~I'm not sure, but this might be one of the first instances when it looks as if they're getting away safely only to discover... In this instance, he discovers that she is now a vampire.
The Howling
Mindhunters
Suspect Zero
The Ring 1 & 2
Terror Train
I Bury the Living
Beast With Five Fingers
The Asphyx~This is one of those movies I list a lot that no one seems to have seen. I don't understand why it isn't aired!

There always will be someone who says, "Oh, I knew right away!" So, this can be a personal view. For me, I guessed such films as "The Sixth Sense" and "The Village" quite speedily; but, these two held major surprises for a lot of people. Something I think of as catchy might be wide open to someone else.

The twist is a little predictable, but "The Usual Suspects." I think one of the best movies I've ever seen.
Also, we all know the answer now, but imagine the "twist" at the end of "The Empire Strikes Back." Nobody would've predicted Vader being Luke's father at the time.
