anyone got any stories to tell??

And I am not talking about people selling things, I am talking about pure deception for the sure hell of it to mess your head up , I guess.

Like lieing about what they do for work, their relationships from before, where they live and their age even maybe.

What was the reason , you think??

I've heard of a girl who strung a guy along for 4 years with some online dating thing.

She never met him in person and after 4 years he found out the photos she was sending him were of her sister and she was actually very overweight.

He also sent her quite a lot of money over the years - thousands of dollars.

He is a fool for doing it.

I would say that bad, dishonest people take advantage of the internet because there is no way they would get away with the lies in real life. Gutless people hiding behind their computer screens wouldnt last one day if they tried that in the real world.

I got the answer right here.

Because we live in a world of unknowns. And there are so many people out there that are sick and demented that people are afraid of disclosing information because they don't want to be caught. For example I work here. And once that person knows that information that you automatically assume that the person is going to stalk you.

And the same applies to the place that they live. You don't want to disclose it because you think that the person is going to rob you, stalk you, or kill you.

But yet if you meet someone on the street or at an event you all of a sudden see the person in person and say okay I will tell you everything. Because society is based on looks and what looks good. Thats my thoughts.

You take your chances on here, just like anywhere else. I know people in my daily life that lie all the time.
I weed them out here and at home.
Some that are the internet are decent and honest. I know a few. Some will lie about anything, but like I said... even in daily lives, people do that.

Insecurity? The feeling that maybe their lives won't match up to others expectations. It's easy to lie when nobody can see the real you I guess. Personally I can't be bothered to. It's too much to remember!

70 % of the time.

Cause they are not happy with who they are, want to impress everyone they meet. Also like to make people think they have loads of friends.

Blinking FOOLS.

80% of the time...
even though you get to be unknown in cyberspace, some part of us are just afraid of what ppl might think and say and know plus...the world is really a small place...who knows who we might end up having as contacts and friends... = )

All the time. Most of the time it is because they are ashamed of what they do or who they are or they want to be doing something different or be someone else.
