It is called the Dilbert Principle!
"The Dilbert Principle refers to a 1990s satirical observation stating that companies tend to systematically promote their least-competent employees to management (generally middle management), in order to limit the amount of damage that they're capable of doing."
I have seen this in action in real life, and I am now unemployed, forced to collect a decent check for sitting on my butt, because of it.

Well I guess stupid people, don't know much.. so what we don't know, can't hurt us right? Being dumb, gets others to do things for you, and decide things for you. If your oblivious to whats going on in the world today, you could keep an open mind, and not live in fear of bad things happening to you. You don't get into many arguments, because you know your never right. Most important, nobody expects very much outta you, so you never have to worry about disappointing people.
