we fuss at each other until i fiinally give up and do as she wishes...she's more hard headed than i am, i swear.
i try to do the silent thing sometimes, but she won't put up with that for a minute and somehow gets me to say something....most of the time we end up simply laughing at the situation and ourselves...and the times we don't i grouse and grumble and wind up doing what she wants anyway (so why do i bother disagreeing in the first place? o yes, i'm hard headed, she's just got a harder head)

Lidybeff - you are correct - we must work hard to avoid the arguments in the first place. However our safety relief valves sometimes vent off in all sorts of ways - the silent treatment is the most popular although the extent of time must always be relatively short or else there are potential problems looming in the relationship.

if at first you and partner can agree that you and the other are truly looking for the best interest of the other and understand what that means, conflicts can be manageable . silent treatments are at best childish. personally i have more respect for myself , and i would nip that behavior in the bud.

Lets see, she gets annoyed at the pressure she's under because she wants to flirt and yet HE's in the way, he thinks she's angry at him and apologises, not knowing what for, then spends weeks tip-toeing round her afraid he'll do it again. At which point she gets sick of his good-nature and over-bearing concern so she dumps him.
Then the next guy comes along ..

Husband and I hardly ever have an argument, but when we do it is BIG.
But we thrash it out, until we have reached a common ground.

I've been married 28 years. We don't fight much, we disagree but we don't argue over it. I think now we just hope it will go away. I do my thing, he does his thing.
