Take log base 10:-
x log 8 = 1
x = 1 / log 8
x = 1.107

Check
8^(1.107) = 10 (as required)

8^x = 10;
log(8^x) = log (10) ;
x * log(8) = log (10) ;
x * 0.90309 = 1;
x = 1.107309;

simple use logirathim well type this in log 10 divided by log 8 and there uyou got your x value :-) x= 1.107309365

very easy...find the log in both sides:
xlog8=log10
divide both sides by log8

thus x approx: 1.1073
