Hey everybody! I have a question. I am hopefully taking my mom to Las Vegas for this holiday season from December 24th to December 27th (3 nights, 4 days). I am interested in taking her to hotels such as the MGM Hotel, Caesar's Palace, Paris Las Vegas or Rio...I have been checking their prices and I do get their rates...what I can not find on their websites is if the food services are included on their rates...as in will we have a food plan as part of our reservation or do we have to pay for food separate...and if we do, how much is the food going to cost. If there are any other Vegas hotels that you recommed, I'll appreciate it!

Check out Excalibur and NYNY. They have some great room rates for those nights and they have a great location.

Food is never included in hotel prices here. If you go to www.vegas.com you can click on dining and you can find restaurants with their prices and reviews. Great place to start.

For hotel prices go to www.sidestep.com. They will search all the other websites for the best prices for you.

You will have to pay for food seperate. There are tons of restaraunts on the strip. If I had to recommend one you're looking at, I'd say Caesars if you're willing to pay the price. It's one of the nicest and most expensive hotels on the strip. They have great shopping too; they just opened up another wing of the Forum Shops. The only hotels I've stayed at on the strip are Circus Circus (ok if you're just staying a day or two and want to go to the Adventure Dome) and the Flamingo (my boyfriend's grandmother works there, so we got a suite on the top floor), and if you're willing to pay for the nice rooms, I'd recommend there. Other then that, Caesars, Planet Hollywood, Mandalay Bay and Venetian are GREAT for shopping, Paris isi good for sightseeing and stuff, as you can go to the top of the Eiffel Tower.

As far as food cost... There's a Cheesecake Factor at Caesars, which is moderately priced. Most of the restaraunts in the hotels are gonna be expensive unless you go to a coffee shop or something. There's a Denny's by the Venetian, which is always good. Haha. Ummm... Depending on how you wanna eat, there are a ton of fast food restaraunts on the strip and there's an In n Out right off the strip (which I HIGHLY recommend... most people not from the west coast who have never had it before crave it when they leave, haha). If you're willing to go a little off the strip there's lots of places you can go.

The foodservices are not in their rates, You have to pay seperate. however sometimes you may get a funbook when you check in for discounts. And if you are a really big gambler well you can pretty much count on food being paid for. Food is going to be spendy, expect around 40-50 including tip for 2 people at a decent restraunt.

Food prices are not included but all hotels have fine dining and buffets. My preference is buffets because they are affordable and all you can eat for a fixed price.
Here is a list of Vegas buffets with prices and phone numbers.
