is making $60,000 per year enough to live a satisfying life?
how much money does one need to make to live a life in which he/she is NOT poor, can afford to travel, go out, etc... but at the same time NOT excessively rich, basically how much money do I need to make per year to live a life that isn't so poor and NOT so materialistic (rich)? basically i am looking for a salary range in which money will NOT concern me or affect anything i do.

We are supposed to be pleased when things 'run like clockwork'. Clockwork mechanisms, though, are notoriously prone to failure. You have to keep winding them up. If you forget - or if you go too fa... well, you take my point. Somewhere in your world now, there's a situation that pretty much takes care of itself. The maintenance it requires is almost unconscious. It's just something you find yourself doing every so often. Right now, it requires a little extra attention. Don't begrudge it this.

We always desire a little bit more than we already have.
If you have $50,000 now you think that $60,000 will be plenty. But once you get $60,000 soon you will want at least $70,000. Our desires grow along with our income.
There were days in my life when I had only 1/2 of what I have now, and it's not like I was going around begging for food. But now I simply don't undesrtand how it was possible.
How many dependents would be there to support?

DEPENDING ON WHERE YOU LIVE...$60,000 a year is a very comfortable sum. I make $40,000/year and I've been able to comfortably raise two children, I have my own home, I drive a new car. Of course, I live in Michigan...I you live on either of the coasts...that amount won't get you very far.
If you are only supporting yourself, and you aren't looking to be fabulously wealthy...you should be able to pretty much whatever you want to with no problem.

Perhaps at first. But then you'll find out that someone else is making more that doing the same thing you are. Unless your able to control your own envy, $60,000 will not be enough.

Yes, the sum of $60,000 is a very satisfying sum, but if you want to be able to do anything and not be troubled....
You Need More that that.... $1,000,000.00 per year I think
