Yes and thats exactly the reason that I don't like to borrow money from people...I don't want to feel like I owe anybody anything

It is sort of a funny situation. I would say the person who got you the gift did it on purpose and he/she did it because f certain expectations. Now when the person finds out that his expectations are to ruins, the person gets irritated and look for somthing which should pull off his frustation. At this point of time one should either give some sort of emotional support or some sort of physical support. Providing the person recieves none, the only way to get over the frustating moment is OF UNDOING. i.e. the person takes his gift back.
OR throws the gift on your face in order to show that neither matters to him, or that he is angry and frustated.

I can provide you with the solution to such frustating event as well. You can IM me for reference and adaptive behaviour which may be used at such occassions.

Why did you accept a gift from someone that would do that to you? I have never done that, nor would I ever. Give the gift back, and tell him to go away.

What's stupid is if you know this person has this type of attitude you should leave well alone. It's called an "Indian Giver". Best not to accept a gift from a person with this type of attitude. Only leads to negative feelings:o)

It's usually said out of anger or frustration, they don't want the gift back, they just want that same appreciation

Ya, I hate that. I accepted about $25,000 from my mom. $22,000 to pay off my loans and $3,000 for a down payment for a truck. I hope I don't regret accepting these gifts. She may use it against me in the future to make me feel guilty.

Yeah!
It's a gift! You didn't ask for it, in the first place.

it sounds like a very childish and immature person that would act like that. you would be best off giving back everything and avoiding anyone that inconsiderate.
