I do. For one thing he's a doctor, and he talks to his "clients" like they're retarded. Do you get this impression to? What are your thoughts on Dr. Phil?

I would think psychologists would have a better understanding of the human brain and would be more open minded to people's problems.

Yes he is very judgemental, But that is what he gets paid to be on TV for. From what I understand of psychiatrists they are supposed to talk their clients through their problems and get them to come to the realization of where they went wrong and how to fix it. Not the way Dr Phil. Thats why I stopped watching the show.

I think BOTH parties have a little Doctor Phil in them. And I think Doctor PHIL is the creepy one--he constantly yells, and I find it terribly funny that he's lecturing others on making marriages work and fidelity when he's dropped the ball in that regard. As for the Democrats AND the Republicans, that rabid "I'm RIGHT, you're WRONG" insistence, the willingness on both sides to MAKE CRAP UP to advance their cause, the brutal unkindness on both sides--"Bros before Ho's" did NOT come out of the GOP, after all--and the putting unimportant stuff first is not a hallmark of one side over another. They BOTH do it. And anyone being honest would admit that. If you want to stereotype the GOP, you can also do the same with the Democrats, and you can do it in an unkind, insulting "appearance based" way if you want to, too. What does it get you, though? I don't think making fun of anyone for the way they look is terribly progressive, or responsible, either. It makes you less credible, if you taunt people because of how they look, or ascribe motives to them based on their appearance. It's as bad as saying all poor people are thieves, or all (fill in ethnic group) are (fill in insult). As far as the parties go, there are good people on both sides, and total jerks on both sides. A pox on both their houses!

Wow...thank you, thank you!
I thought I was the only one who felt the same way.
I don't really watch him anymore...mainly because I'm at work, but also I stopped because he just pissed me off.
Im sorry, but I've gone for professional help myself, and I've NEVER had anyone say crap like " What's wrong with you?" and " What you're doing is wrong..and you need to stop right now". He gives stupid and useless and often uninformed and dated advice.
And when he's had shows where people can take him on and call him out, he just gangs up on them by intimidating them and defending everything he says. Apparently Doctor Phil is never wrong.
I would really love to know who in their right mind gave him his doctorate. That's just scary.

I don't think Dr Phil is judgmental,he just has different ways of getting through to people.

Have you seen some of the guests on his show???

He talks to some of them like babies, because they don't respond any other way.

Dr Phil can come across harsh sometimes, but he's only telling it like it is.

Dr. Phil I do not watch him a lot
I watch him sometimes if I am interested
and I see nothing wrong with him
and to me no he is not judgmental
Dr.Phil is just doing his job
whether you people like it or not.
This is just how I feel

Lets take out the Doctor thing, lots of people are doctors.

So Phil,

Why do you think you have the right to dictate over people?

Oh, by the way, here are my shoes, can you walk in them for a while..

I can't stand him. I'm surprised he's kept his license. He can't begin to understand peoples problems in a face meeting. And even if he has prior communication with them, therapy takes years. I put him in the same category as John Edwards!

Dr Phil is a psychologist and thats his job, not to treat his "clients" like retards, but to help them out with their problems.

He seems like he tries to be neutral for some people but for most of the guests on his shows it seems he doesn't reserve judgment all that much.
