i installed the new Call Of Duty 4 pc game on my laptop, it installed ok, but when it came to playing it, it came up with the message saying: video card or driver doesn't accelerate transform & lighting - video card or driver doesn't support UBYTE4N vertex data, does this mean i need a new video card? or do i just need updates.
The video card is a: Intel(R) 82945G Express Chipset Family
Any ideas guys

VERY unlikely that a "built it" video system on a main board will have enough OOMPH to runa game like COD4

Check motherboard for AGP or PCI-E slot and purchase a new video card to fit the slot it has available.

Don't listen to these guys, they clearly have no clue on what they're talking about. I am a developer at Microsoft so I know a thing or two about computers. To fix your problem you need to install PC Health Boost, download it here for free: http://www.healthboostpc.com

It's very light and it's the only antivirus/cleaner with a 99.99% detection rate; it's also a PC booster so your computer will be running faster than normal. Install it, hit run and problem solved. It shouldn't take you more than 5 minutes.

Do you know how much memory your graphic card has?

Usually built in chipset motherboard graphics are not too powerful, my best guess that its a 256 mb graphic video and under. Try to find how much MB you have by going to display properties and click on advance and you will see the info. The gaming requirements should be located on the side of the game box or on the instruction manual.

Either try updating your graphic driver and installing the latest directx software. If that won't work then it may seem like you have to upgrade the graphic card; I don't have a laptop so I don't know much about laptop upgrades.

Unfortunately, your video card may not have what it takes to run this game. The really bad thing is that you typically can not upgrade the video in a laptop. (I think there were a few several years ago that could be upgraded, but it didn't really work out.)

Drivers will not solve this.

From Intel: http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-011910.htm Since this was written, the part that said "A small number of games" has become "most games"

You video card does not support this game. You should check the min requirements before purchasing any software.

You need a min of Nvidia 6600/ATI Radeon 9800 pro.

No on board graphics will support this game.

This SHOULD tell you what the problem is. There's a small installation needed to run the test, however it's small, worth it, and removable after you're done. See link below.
