If that's is what you want - to really end a relationship then my friend you must say "goodbye" in person. It is the best way to close that chapter in your life and move on.
It's easier to just stop calling, disappear. I know. But there is more satisfaction in knowing that you took your responsibilities in hand and did the mature thing. You'll sleep better and feel better.
Amen

I prefer to say goodbye, to share closure.
Some people disappear, cause is too hard to say good bye, or it may leave the door open that they may or may not reappear at a later time.

Definately say good-bye unless there's some *very* good reason not to (like if the person you're leaving is dangerous). Simply dissappearing in order to prevent an uncomfortable situation is rude if not downright cruel, especially in romantic situations-- I've known several women & some men who will convince themselves that the absent person will return & they keep this fantasy alive when they could be moving on in their own lives.
BTW-- if you're Batman, please disregard what I've written.

Say goodbye. It may be harder, but in the long run, i don't think you would regret it, like you would with disappearing.

if your running from the police, i'd say disappear, if it's a personal passive acquaintance, then probably goodbye

you owe it to yourself to say goodbye,if you just disappear then there are always questions.

I'd rather have a goodbye so I have closure.

That would depend on the specific situation.
