I had Directv w Tivo, I don't have DIRECTV anymore, but I still want to use my DVR. How can I do that?

From what I have read and with Directv Tivo receivers, there is no way you can use the tivo in the Directv receiver without subscribing to any Directv services. The hardware and software are intergrated into Directv receiver.

The only way is to buy a new or used tivo stand alone receivers at www.tivo.com. Then you can use the DVR on any source.
