We've had snow on and off here in Vermont for the last couple of weeks. Not much accumulation, but enough to cover the ground. Forecast for today: Rain changing to freezing rain then changing to snow. Winter weather advisory in the higher elevations. 3 or more inches of accumulation in the higher elevations (that's us!)

It has been snowing this week on Mt Hood near Portland,
Oregon in the Pacific Northwest in the states. And we in
Vancouver, Washington have been seeing freezing temps.
at night for several days now. We expect to see that tomorrow
morning for the rush hour to work. So sanding trucks have
been on the highways and freeways laying down sand to provide traction for tires making the morning commute into
the city. We're having January temps for the last couple of
weeks now. I believe this is one holiday season, where we
will be seeing snow. And sooner, rather than later.
So you will be spending Christmas in the ocean, rather than
in a cooler climate? I've spent Christmases in the warmer
climates a few times and it was hard to find the Christmas spirit with warm sunshine and palm trees. You probably don't have palm trees in Oz. But you'll still need the sun block LOL.

We had a light dusting last week and have been cold at night but with reasonably pleasant days in SW Missouri. I am ready for a good snow, I love the magical feeling of looking out in the morning and seeing everything covered with snow, it's wonderful. I love going out and walking in fresh snow! Then I want it to go away by lunch time, lol. But no ice! I hate ice! Esp after last winter, it was horrible!
