Baguio City is part of Benguet Province which is under the Cordillera Administrative Region.

The City of Baguio (Ilokano: Ciudad ti Baguio; Filipino: Lungsod ng Baguio) is a 1st class highly urbanized city in northern Luzon in the Philippines. Baguio City was established by Americans in 1900 at the site of an Ibaloi village known as Kafagway. Baguio City was designated by the Philippine Commission as the Summer Capital of the Philippines on June 1, 1903 and incorporated as a city by the Philippine Assembly on September 1, 1909. There is a presidential mansion, as well as supreme court and legislative offices in Baguio. Baguio is the seat of government of the Cordillera Administrative Region. The name of the city is derived from the word bagiw in Ibaloi, the indigenous language of the Benguet Region, meaning 'moss'. The city is at an altitude of approximately 1500 meters (5100 ft) in a moist tropical pine forest conducive to the growth of mossy plants and orchids..

Mountain Province is a landlocked province of the Philippines in the Cordillera Administrative Region in Luzon. Its capital is Bontoc and borders, clockwise from the south, Ifugao, Benguet, Ilocos Sur, Abra, Kalinga, and Isabela.

Mountain Province is the full name of the province and is sometimes incorrectly named just Mountain in some foreign references. The name is also incorrectly shortened by locals to Mt. Province, which in turn is read by native Anglophones as "Mount Province". The province is named that way because it is found in the Cordilleras mountain range of north central Luzon.

Mountain Province was also the name of the historical province that included most of the current Cordillera provinces. This old province was established by the Americans in 1908 and was later split in 1966 into Mountain Province, Benguet, Kalinga-Apayao and Ifugao.

Mountain Province is subdivided into 10 municipalities. The current representative for Congress is Victor S. Dominguez

Municipalities:
* Barlig
* Bauko
* Besao
* Bontoc
* Natonin
* Paracelis
* Sabangan
* Sadanga
* Sagada
* Tadian

Actually,there are many beautiful places in this country...I am from philippines that's why i know..:)There are cheap ways to get around..These are the Tricycle and of course, busses and cabs. Some of theinteresting places here in philippines:Mayon Volcano;known for its perfect cone,Baguio City;which sits on top of a mountain some 5,000 feet up. The climate there is alot cooler which makes it a popular place to live and play. If you visit Baguio go to see Mines View, a point with a breathtaking view from an overhang high above a deep valley where they mine over 40 different minerals. The late president Ferdinand Marcos's mansion, museum and mausoleum. At the time we were there President Marcos was lying in a glass display case within a refrigerated mausoleum located in the town of Batac which is in the province of Ilocos Norte towards the northern part of the main island. I must admit, it was pretty spooky inside the mausoleum.. Those were just some of them..there are lots more..:)

Baguio City and Mountain Province are provinces in Cordillera Autonomous Region (Benguet). But Baguio City is not a part of Mountain Province although Baguio is at the "mountains". ;-)

Baguio is a part of Benguet geographically. Mountain Province and Benguet are two different provinces under the Cordillera Administrative Region although 50 years ago, Benguet was a part of Mountain Province so you would see in very old maps that they used to be one province.

Baguio is financially and economically independent from Benguet since it is a chartered city. Only when it comes to geography that Baguio is a part of Benguet but Benguet is different from Mountain Province.

The provinces under CAR would be:
Ifugao, Kalinga, Apayao, Mountain Province, Abra, and Baguio (Chartered)
