I am 11, and about a month ago, i was showering and had noticed reddish purple stretch marks.i have not yet had my period, and am slim. what could be the cause of this. I doesn't hurt, but NONE of my friends have it. I am kind of embarrassed to show my legs now, will they fade. ANY ANSWERS?

Despite what you see in the media, most women have stretch marks. You are growing young lady, meaning you probably are developing hips and stuff. Are they on your legs though or on your hips? Don't compare yourself to your friends either. Everyone grows differently. Talk to your mom about it...and don't be embarassed!

Honey you can still get stretch marks if you are thin. It happens when you grow and your insides grow faster that your skin. They will fade to a white later but you cannot get rid of them. The more tone you are the less visible they are. I got them on my breasts and my hips when I was 13 and I only weighed 85 pounds. I also have three children but I did not get any during pregnancy. It is early and you are growing fast. Your friends might not be growing as quickly as you are. Do not be embarrassed about them.

Oh the lovely stretch marks...

Lots and lots and lots of girls and women get them. If you are really worried, there are several stretch mark creams out there that can help minimize them. Chances are, you'll get lucky and they will fade on their own. If you are going to try a cream, look for one with vitamin E or cocoa butter as the first or second ingredient (not towards the end of the list).

Don't worry about your friends not having them yet... their day will come!!! :)

Don't worry.
It's probably from a growth spurt.
I got stretch marks too.
Mine have pretty much faded.
(( I was about 10-11. I'm 14 now. ))
