Mine is that I have sat in the kitchen of one of Jimmy Pages houses in the south of England and drunk tea with him, before he showed me some of his guitars.
Totally genuine and blew me away at the time.

I'd wandered into a music store along the way
to an afternoon college class, to maybe
squeeze-out some blues on one of their
guitars hanging on an endless wall of
selection when, lo 'n behold, looked over
to see half the shop had been separated
into an array of "audience chairs" facing
a drumkit.

Simultaneously, had begun to pick up on
the vocal strains of a conversation half
of which was severely English in its accent.

I looked over and thought, "I've seen that
guy before!"

Sure enough, it was none other than Bill Ward
chatting with the owner of the place, and as it
turned out, was to give a tutoring on drums
for the paying American locals.

Bill was pleasant, friendly, shook my hand warmly,
with no airs whatsoever. When I mumbled
something like, "Ok, you're probably tired of
fans bombarding your every free second,"
he came back with, "No, not at all." and
even upon learning that I'm merely a
student of the blues and not a percussionist,
he treated me as though I were someone
of worth, not "just some commoner/brainless
fan".

I'll never forget it.

Sure, I once stood in an elevator with Brenden Frasier and all I could come up with was, " *gasp* You're George of the Jungle!"

My cousin is a daytime soap star

I know the guys from Crossfade as they are from my home (college) town and the sound guy and tour manager for Saliva, and when they recently came to town together they called and left us tix at will call for front row, but we spent the whole time either at the sound board or on the tour bus with them [sweet]...later that evening they got limos and we all went to the local casinos where they ALL (members from both bands AND their manager did not bring their ID's and couldn't get in!!) It was an awesome night. Just saw a few of them at a funeral yesterday, (their old band member's in another band) where one played piano ;o(

Met Bruce Hornsby and his band a couple of times---very cool (and unusual) cat

I used to wait on Lou Holtz every Tuesday night in the restaurant I worked in, and his son Skip was a regular of mine as well. Came across several political figures there as well--Wes Clark, Jesse Jackson, John Edwards...

Paula Deen knew my grandfather and she personally served me and my family at a gathering we had that she allowed us to rent out her restaurant in Savannah for.

I can get close, as I met Bob Dylan.

I was backstage when he and Tom Petty were touring together. (neither were to be seen) I got into a discussion with one of the other backstage folks about how Bob may be a real poet, but his lyrics make no sense to me.

I feel a tap on my shoulder and turn to see Bob right there. he asked me to clarify, so i recited a lyric back to him. I said it was visually artistic, but I didn;t know what it meant.

he gave an enimatic smile and said "You will", then he turned and walked away
