It's a kind of knowledge exchange and sharing of wisdom and experience.People who ask questions often also answer questions and if not, then at least read the questions and answers of others while selecting questions to answer. In the process ,we all broaden our knowledge base and horizon of experience.Who gets more or less, then becomes a relative issue and shouldn't really be of much concern.

If I have done someone some good by answering a question then they have benefitted - and so have I. As to which benefits more, that is tougher. Because the two benefits are "not of the same coin."
The person getting an answer benefits because their needs have been gratified / satisfied on some simple level.
I gave an answer but got a different set of intangible benefits. Such as respect, the gratitude of another person, and proof that I have something to contribute to others. Which feeds back into self-worth. Herbert Maslow suggests that the latter concept, self-actualization, is a VERY deep need.
The problem is, of course, how to compare the apples and oranges implied in your question. There, I really don't know how to make that call.

I feel good about giving advice to the person asking the question, who benefits from my answer.

It could be the person giving advice, because you are helping someone understand something further and in them even asking your personal opinion means that they value it. Inevitably you are influencing their decision.
Then again the receiver, is getting the benefit of extra insight.
Maybe it is a give and take situation.
