Why do some people lie so much about republicans?

Here's some of the worst ones I head:

republicans are racist - look at the Cabinet theres more minorities than clintons'

republicans will force your grandma to eat cat food - my grandma herself says thats a lie

There has always been an attack on the Republicans because the underworld is afraid that if they actually get a hold of this country they may just put the mob, the democrats, the media, and the entire wicked empire out of business. Face it, for years the mob has been at the polls intimidating people to vote for the democrats, why do you think that is? It is because the Democrats are in bed with the Mob, why else would the mob go to such extremes to make sure that they are voted in? The media is bought and paid for to make sure that the democrats are made to look like saints and anything that they do that is negative is always hid under the table. I am shocked that Americans are so slow to catch on to all of this and not just vote Republican all the way. If Americans did this is would start to slow down the mob, the democrats who are supported by the mob, the unions who are supported by the mob, the media who are supported by the mob, and all other rotten organizations that are in America that are controlled by the Mob. IF you question what I say do your research on the mob being at voting polls threating people to vote for the democrates. Are people so stupid to think that if the democrats are connected with the mob that they are going to be good and fair? Get real, the entire thing is ran by the all mighty dollar. Greed is what is running our Senate. Check out the rapp sheets on our State Senators, U.S. Senators, you will find that these people have serious criminal reports but this is all kept hid from the media. Our Senators are Murders, (Ted Kennedy) yet the people keep voting him in probably out of fear, the crime list is quite long on these people. One year the Readers Digest exposed the criminal list of all of our Senators and most of them should be doing time in jail but instead they are in a very prestegious spot in our government voting themeselves a huge raise every year while you are paying more and more in taxes. Just keep voting for the Democrats if you want this country totally destroyed! I challange each of you to do your research on what I say. The History Channel just ran a program that tells how the mob threatens people at the polls to vote Democrat, and The Readers Digest will tell you about the criminal report on your elected officals. Maybe it is time we clean up America! Let us get rid of the Democrats!

This is a good question, and I have three parts to my answer.

1. There is a difference between a lie, and a false statement that a person conscientiously believes to be true. Many people will believe the worst about George W. Bush, and repeat it like it's the truth. I personally don't care for Mr. Bush, but I will say nothing against him because he is YOUR president that YOU elected, and I'm not an American. Anyone in public office has to get used to some mighty nasty criticism.
2. Whenever someone is in public office, people will use wild exaggeration with a view to discrediting a public figure. For "Republicans will force your grandma to eat cat food" read "Republican policies make it difficult for many senior citizens to enjoy a basic standard of living".
3. As for the racism issue, just because there are minorities in the cabinet does not mean that the Republicans are not racist. I'm not saying they are, and I have no evidence that they are. Sometimes private employers, for example, will hire a minority person for a high-profile job, to divert attention from systemic racism within the hiring process.

In other words, everyone lies about everyone. It's called politics, and I agree with you that it's dirty.

The cat food story came about when Clinton vetoed the Republican budget proposal in December of 1995 .

The Democrats had no budget plan of their own and decided to scare people by saying "Grandma will have to eat cat food with the republican budget numbers .

Quote from CNN:

"President Clinton vetoed the Republican budget reconciliation bill Wednesday, but promised to unveil his own seven-year balanced budget package the following day. "


After, Clinton shut down the government with his veto , the next day the Dem's produced a near carbon copy of the Republican budget except with an extra 2 cents per month for grandma .

The racism comments are ironic because the Democrats have a long history with the KKK and 80 % of the Democrat senators including Al Gore Sr. voted against civil rights amendments in the 1960's at the same time Republicans voted for the changes .

My grandma says she'll eat cat food if Dubya says to, and be glad to get it. Besides that, it's a real bargain and comes in a variety of flavors. She prefers the good stuff in the can, though, not that dry kind that comes in a big sack.

Are you talking about the evil, rich Republicans that don't want Hillery to help the poor and 60 million illegals in the country. What is so wrong with the democrats wanting to make them "instant" Americans?

When in Texas I always ate Tex Mex and some of the restaurants got busted because they had a ton of dog food cans in the back. must say it was tasty, but not sure if I ate at one of them, they have 30% protien. Take care.

They hope people don't reseaerch things and beleive them. Remeber if you say a lie long enough, people start believing it.

Proof of this is the Washington weasels keep saying we have 12 million illegals here. They have been saying that same number for years. They think we won't realize that the number of illegals increases on a DAILY basis so that 12 million figure MUST be wrong. (BTW, it's closer to 30 million.)
