Sir:

With all due respect, the Moon flies across my viewable sky at one heck of a rapid rate. To identify any particular object you would have to be more specific in time of observation and give us some idea of where you are located when viewing it, as in South Texas, Southern Tip of New Zeland, or Western China.

If I position my 6 inch Meade Refractor Telescope such that I am focused on the Moon with, say for example, a 100 mm eyepiece, the surface of the moon zips right through my view in no time flat, and continues doing so until it is slam out of sight. So I cannot respond to your question without more information.

Must be Saturn -- down and to the left of the moon. Mars is just about right in front of the moon at 9:00 PM Pacific Time

our meteorologist says the large spot beside the moon right now is a comet. coming this way he also says it will miss us
