on the first day of my period I had unprotected sex with my spouse. My period was light on the first day........I just don't know if I can still get pregnant........never had that happen to me before..............

Yes, especially if you have short cycles. You ovulate about 14 days before your next cycle starts. You are fertile a few days before that. So if you have cycles that are only, for example, 17 days long then you would be ovulating on the third day or so of your cycle -- which for most of us is still period time. If you think you are pregnant, take a test. You can take one anytime after the suspected initial point of conception. However, it may not show the true results until 14 days into it.

Your period is your body shedding the lining of your uterus that was prepared to raise the fetus. If there happened to be an egg wandering around, it would have no place to attach. This is the whole basis of the (somewhat successful) rhythm method of both birth control and of enhanced conception chances.

Yes, unprotected sex can always result in pregnancy, it doesn't matter if you were on your period, or if you did it standing up, or if it was a full moon in February, or even if it was the second Friday of the fourth week of the second month of the year.

Nope, dont think you can. You start bleeding 2 weeks after you ovulate. If you started your period, you are expelling the egg meaning that there is no egg available at that moment to fertilize.

me and my cat dissagree i say you cant because your body is emptying out the old material but my cat says yes because the egg is replaced instantly
