So I think I have cervicitis but I can't get to the doctor until Dec 13. I was just reading up on it and it said that if left untreated it can lead to infertility, cancer, chronic pelvic pain and much more! How long before this happens? Weeks, months, years? Help! I am freaking out because I really want kids and I can't get to the doctor for a couple more weeks!

If it is that serious, maybe you should go to the emergency room.

Peace!

Ok first clam down. Take a deep breath. This won't happen for several months. It isn't immediate. Just live out your life normally and do to the doctor on the 13th. Everything will be fine. You don't even no is you have cervicitis.

Left untreated means months or yrs not weeks. So calm down and you will be fine until you can get into to see your doc but if it really bothering you go to the ER and see if they can do anything for you.

I had it. Don't worry, you would have to leave it a very long time for it to lead to infertility. However you are obviously upset about it which certainly won't help so why don't you try and get into the doc's sooner.

Waiting two more weeks isn't going to do any harm. If you have pain now it just might be a little more uncomfortable until then. Don't worry about it, just keep your appointment on Dec. 13th so you don't put it off anymore.

Doctors will usually reschedule to an earlier time if you are having a problem, rather than an annual check up. Call and ask. If they can't reschedule try to find another gynocologist who can see you sooner.

If it bothers you so much, may be you should find a new doctor, who will schedule u for a earlier appointment. It would freak me out too. Good Luck.

If you are reading about this online, stop doing it. A lot of the stuff that you find online is BS and totally not accurate. Stop stressing until you actually have a reason to.

I say that unless you can see a doctor before then, know that if it gets too, (underline too) severe that you WILL get restitution from the doctor if you tell them it might be very very serious.

Tell them its very very serious upfront.
