Windows is known to have thousands of viruses. Try playing your video ( or audio ) in another program such as; VLC ( a great freeware video & audio player that plays almost anything ). I hope that helps, good luck!

windows media player takes up a lot of memory, as the visual effects exceed was is necessary. try playing it in skin mode instead of full window. if that doesnt work, try another music player...or it may simply be that you dont got enough RAM. do you know how much you have?

If you were really short of memory it might not load or get caught in a cache swap loop, but both work fine for me even with other programs running. I have 640M of RAM.
