Because, it will cost money to clean up the mess they have made, and that means less in their pockets.

I typically am more aligned with republican values and I think that protecting the environment is one of the most important jobs of a LIMITED government.
I also happen to think that Global Warming is crap, but that is more of a scientific point of view than a political one. If you are looking for a political point of view, ask yourself this - why didn't Al Gore say a peep about Global Warming when he was VP and all of a sudden, it is a crisis threatening to destroy all of human kind now? Is it possibly because it's almost election time?
Make no mistake - so called "environmentalists" are lobbyists, just like big oil and big tobacco. They just sound altruistic, but their aim is the same, build an empire, get their people elected into office, get money, get power. Different color, same horse.

How do you know that the people that dump oil in the river are republicans? If you know that much about the people that are doing the oil dumping, seems like you would know their name, and if you know all that, why don't you report them to the marine police?

Not all of us don't. I'm a Republican, and drive a fuel efficent car, recycle and don't buy bottled water. Quit lumping all people in the same boat. Most Republicans and people in general worry about the enviornment, just not Al Gore's the world will end tomorrow if we don't do something.

Republicans do have concern for the environment. Most republicans are gun owners, or gun rights supporters at the very least. Many gun owners are also hunters. And hunting occur in forests and such. Anytime someone is threatening to destroy forests, the hunting crowd is usually crying about it too. Republicans just don't have the hair on fire, world is going to end tomorrow unless you buy a florescent bulb mentality many Democrats have.

The republicans do care about the environment, they just believe that there are different solutions to the problem. As far as Republicans not caring, research the house that George Bush has in Texas and then compare his to "His Stupidness" Al Gore and the 28,000 square foot house that John Edwards had in North Carolina and then tell me who does not care about the environment.

Talk about generalizing people. I could say the same about liberals. Just about every Hollywood star is a Liberal and they pollute a ton more than me. Look at Leonardo for example he may drive a Prius, but when was the lst time he flew commercial. Or Al Gore. I bet he uses more water on his lawn than ten families consume a year. I bet his utilities are higher than mine as well. You are just another cry baby liberal trying to start some static.

Theodore Roosevelt was a Republican and he established the National Park Service.
Of course, Theo was one of those "Old-money, high-minded" Republicans....not like the grimy, corrupt, degenerates that currently solicit anonymous gay sex in public toilet stalls when they aren't stealing from the American taxpayers to pad the pockets of their buddies at Lockheed Martin and General Dynamics for all these planes and bombs we're using in this utterly useless, totally illigitimate conflict currently raging through central Asia...

Do you go up and ask them which political party they support? Interesting that the majority of conservatives support the construction of Atomic power plants, the only true nonpolluting method of power production while Liberals want us to continue with the oil and coal fired plants.
