Why do cemeteries seem so much more scary at night then in the day time?
The reason I am asking this is because I accidently took a wrong turn outside a new city and I couldn't find anywhere to turn around because the road was too narrow when I finally came up on an entrance to a cemetery, but due to the angle of the turn to get onto it,I couldn't just pull in and then back out,so I had to drive into it,as I was driving thru it I became very frightened and had this very strong weak feeling come all over my body,(I hate to say this, but I thought I was going to pee myself).
I have been in cemeteries in the daytime and never was scared.
Have you ever been in a cemetery at night and feel like I did?

Well cross someplace no longer after 12 am on the grounds that law enforcement officials get relatively suspicious in the event that they see children at a cemetery after one million am ( they would believe this is a drug bust otherwise you and your peers are prime). Also do not inform them that you're watching for ghosts or they are going to relatively believe your prime.

lol, I feel like that in my basement when the light burns out. Truth.

But I guess there's been so many movies made of the dead reaching out of the ground and pulling someone in. Cemeteries are relatively safe day or night. It's not the dead that want to hurt you but the living that's capable.

Darkness is always scary because you can't tell what is hiding in the shadows. During the day, things are easy to identify and you know what is what and where you are. At night, the world changes, and who knows what horrors are hiding in every shadow.

Of course, there aren't zombies in the shadows of graveyards, but the idea of the "unknown" is pretty scary in general. You match that up with a place that represents death (aka, the ultimate unknown) and you have something that can easily scare the crap out of your subconscious.

Well I would've probably felt like I was going to pee myself too. Cemeteries are dark places with no life, they represent the evident ability of death. Yeah, I would've been frightened too, all alone in a place where people are buried right near me. Rotting flesh being consumed by worms underneath 6ft of soil... Gives me the chills just thinking about it.

I like taking pictures in the pitch dark at a cemetery. I caught some pretty crazy things. Its quite an adrenaline rush. I recommend trying it.

My friends and I used to go through graveyards at night and search for ghosts, we would see strange figures (shadow people sometimes) it was awesome and spooky, I love the unknown.

Never been that afraid in a graveyard.
