my friend is 14 and had sex with a 16 year old boy who has his drivers license. can't he go to jail because she's a minor ? Someone clear this up for me please..

you are a minor until you are 18.
depending on where you live 14 and 16 is completely legal as long as both consented to have sex.
In Ontario Canada a 14 year old can have sex with someone as old as 17, but the day that person hits 18, it's illegal for them to have sex anymore.
a 13 year old can have sex with anyone under 17.
it's the 4 year gap thing...

Depends on the state. In most cases, there are 2 cutoff ranges: 14 through 18 is okay, and 16 through whatever is okay.

no.. he can't go to jail.. they are both minors.... but I would HIGHLY recommend that you tell your friend that she is much too young to be getting involved in something as serious and as dangerous as a sexual relationship with anyone at her age. There are too many things to can happen in something like that and she doesn't need to mix herself up in that. Second of all... any boy that is 16 sleeping with a 14 yr old needs to step back as well. He's too young as it is and has no business with something that is even younger than he is.

Hell yea, he can go to jail consensual or not doesn't matter...click the link for proof of the answer....it's called statutory rape if her parents find out and they decide to press charges...I've seen people go to juvenile hall for that one all the time....
