Hey Little Eagle. (Another answerer)
With all due respect, you really didn't give enough details in your Q.
Define weatherproofing.
The problem is probably "operator error" no offense. If we knew what you mean by weather proofing and how it was installed; we'd probably be able to answer more accurately.
Obviously if you SEALED the door; you can't open it without BREAKING the seal. If you used weather stripping and it PULLS when the door is open; then IT isn't applied or sealing properly. If you have problems with weather intrusion with a sliding glass door; then perhaps you have more of a problem, than just applying some adhesive backed foam product.

If you mean that shrink plastic, It`s not supposed to go on the door, it`s supposed to be on the frame around the doors. In other words, you can`t open the doors with this stuff on. Putting it on the door won`t do anything to prevent heat loss

yeah you definitely need to give more information,
like what time of day was this weatherproofing put on,
what were you wearing,
were you thinking of bananas at the time
you can't just ask a question and not give the details!!!
p.s. I am not being rude, I am not a rude person, I am cultivated and pure...
