You should have done a "star" pattern where each room is fed from a central location. This way you could put a amplified splitter in 1 location.

Lets say you have 5 rooms, do this:

Go to Radio Shack and buy 4 Splitters and a package of "Termination Resistors".

You should also buy some "F" connectors, A coax Wire stripper and a "T" handle to push the connectors on.

Cut the wire at the box in each room. Install "F" connectors. Install the splitter feeding from the source side and continuing one output to the next room. Screw on the "Termination Resistor" on the un-used output.

IMPORTANT: Hand tighten the "F" Connectors, then tighten with a wrench about 1/4 to 1/2 turn. Loose connectors are the number one reason for poor signal & video quality.

HOOKING UP A TV:

Un-screw one of the termination resistors and wire up the TV. It is important to never leave any open connections on the splitters.

Make sure you use at least RG-6 coax, not the thinner RG-59 cables.
