My wife is trying to determine what her hourly pay would be in St. Louis. She is a RN, specializing in Pediatrics. She has a Bachelor's in Nursing and a Master's as a Nurse Practitioner. She has only been working for 7 years or so, but she has already worked in management positions. Also, if you are from the St. Louis area, which hospitals do you recommend. Thank you for the help!

I'm not sure what RNs make, but I know that my cousin made a great living. I've heard that some nurses make upwards of $93,000 a year, but I'm not sure where they work or how much they work. Some hospitals to look at would be Barnes, St. Lukes, Missouri Baptist, and St. John's. If she specializes in Pediatrics then she may want to look at getting on with Children's Hospital or Cardinal Glennon both are pediatric hospitals. Good luck!!

As a nurse practitioner she may want to consider working for a pediatric group where the hours will be better than at a hospital. St. Johns delivers the most babies in St. Louis. Both Cardinal Glennon and Childrens are hospitals who are only for children. The pay of a regular RN can range up to easily $50,000 a year depending on the department, shift and hospital. With her experience she will make more than that. Many hospitals are so desperate for RNs that they are offering bonuses. She should talk to other nurses in the area to get some honest opinions of their experiences at various hospitals.

My mom has been an RN in STL for almost 30 years. Sorry, I don't know how much she makes, but if you're looking for hospitals, here are a few good ones:

St. Lukes in Town & Country
Barnes near Kingshighway
Missouri Baptist off of Highway 40
