Is next week's Heroes episode finale the final episode until the fall of next year, or they're just going on hiatus until January? I hope it's just until January!!

No, in the ending voice over they spoke of three more episodes and in the next one two heroes die.

It all depends. Season 2 was always supposed to be two volumes. Volume 2 would be 11 episodes and end before the holiday break, and Volume 3 would the the second half of the season. When the writers strike was called, they had episode 11 finished but went back and made some changes so it could be a season finale, just in case. Talks have resumed as of today, and if the studios hurry up and give the writers what they want (and their demands are very reasonable - see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oJ55Ir2jCxk for a simple explanation of why they're on strike) then all the shows can ramp up production and get back to work. If they wait too long, there won't be time.
At the moment the strike is effective because producers and actors are supporting the writers, which has completely shut down production on many shows. Tim Kring, the creator of Heroes, has been out of the picket lines along with most of the cast. The problem is simply that the studios are being greedy and stubborn, and they believe that viewers are stupid and will be just as happy with reality shows as they are with quality scripted shows like Heroes. Hopefully they'll learn they're wrong quickly.

There's a writers' strike going on. They cannot film anything new until the strike is resolved.
Unless we get a quick settlement, next week's show will be the last new episode of "Heroes" for a long time...

Yes, there's speculation that this upcoming show is the season finale brought on grotesquely soon by the writer's strike.

Hopefully it will be back on in Jan. if the strike is resolved. If not, who knows?! I hate it, this is a great show and it is being ruined. These writers aren't going to have jobs to come back to if all the shows are ruined and people are mad at them! It's so sad!!!!

I know me too!!!! I cant see how they can fit all that into one episode!! I'm still partly lost!! I just started to watch Heroes this season. . .so I feel out of the loop! Is Claire's dad good or bad? What about Adam? Idk!!
But I'm totally with you!!

Well, it should come back in Janurary. It might not thought since all the writers are striking.
