I think so yes.... there are many reaons why, I wont go into them all.....
One that does spring to mind though (and im going to generalize very rashly and broadley here) is the fact that before feminism we were just expected to keep a good house and raise a good family, be there for our husbands.... Since we are more liberated now, we are expected to do all that PLUS be brillant career women and socolites and listeners and have perfect bodies, be independed and have a husband etc.... the list goes on....
I am not against feminism at all, i think it has done so many wonderfull things for women, but i do think the bar has been raised.....
But lately, (im talking in the last 10 yrs or so) the bar has been raised for everyone.... The last generation or so, male and female, has so many more expectaions than before.... Everyone is multitasking and rushing around trying to manage family/friends/home and career..... We live in a world full of pressure and we are all made to feel at one time or another if we are not sticking out finger into every single activity available that we are somehow missing out on something.....
think about it...

I should hope that in these days and times, we as a people have gone beyond that. Its obvious to any thinking person today, regardless of male or female, qualifications or talent, in whatever the field, will bring success.. Those lacking, will find limited success, and certainly a lack luster way of life. Only determination, dedication, and perseverance, will net the results necessary for men or women.. Society is changing its beliefs on the roles men and women should play. Either or, can ,and in the future , will be the bread winner,or home maker. Each individual today is free to explore whatever field of endeavor they desire, and will be accepted.. I think we're on the ebb of a wonderful time to be alive, with the only limitations there are , are the ones we hold ourselves to. Welcome to the future girls and guys!!

In some instances I would be inclined to fully agree with that statement. Sometimes too many instances. It would be such a beautiful world if everyone were treated fairly and equally, or at least better than it is at the moment. Many times expectations are based on unrealistic goals, or set ideas about people and things.

well...ppl will think that the society is now equal , but there's still a little sexism...
society has higher expectation on men than women since they are stronger and "think" that can do more thingis than women. ex how many male presidents are there compared to female..? porbably 10:1
and also... most men go to work and earn $ while women stay at home (housewife) =]

I know that my father (who has 8 girls and 6 boys), worked by himself for everyone, has huge expectations for his daughters' husbands. But I (as a female) feel a big expectation to do well on my own. Just because I don't like or want to be left vulnerable to the fact that I am female.

I dont think so. Men are just as concerned about they way they look, just like women. Women expect men to look good, nice tight body, healthy, ect. Men on the other hand expect women to look youthful and slim. Society has high expectations on both, just in somewhat different areas.

Absolutely.
Guys can stay out all night and that's OK. Girls who do so are "loose" or whores.
Guys can dance in the street, be drunk, howl at the moon so to speak, and that's "just being a guy".
If girls do anything like that, again, they are just worthless "ho's" or are considered easy and cheap.
Guys can commit themselves to their jobs and neglect their wives, home, children, and they will be called "hard working" and "career driven." Women who do the same are called bad or neglectful mothers, lesbians, ball busters, bitches.
The list goes on and on.

I think that men are expected to be more successful and feel shunned if they do not live up to those economic standards. However, women are pressured to look and act perfect, which is an equally stressful situation. These are traditional expectations, however, and are currently leaking onto both sexes.

In certain aspects, yes. I think generally more is expected from girls behavior wise. You know the saying "boys will be boys" but there's not a "girls will be girls".
But it seems like more is expected from men when it comes to supporting a family.
