The glomerular capillaries are more permeable than regular capillaries. Proteins and blood cells are retained, and all small molecules can pass through the walls of these capillaries.

The filtration process is operated by blood pressure, which should be the same all over the body.

Glomerular capillaries are more permeable because they are fenestrated. This is important so particulate matter (waste) can cross thru membrane quickly. The blood pressure does not have to be high in capillaries it actually decreases the further from the heart you get. These capillaries actually act on the process of filtration, meaning solutes move from a higher concentration to a lower concentration naturally. The higher the blood pressure, the more dangerous, it is indicative of kidney failure.

Glomerular capillaries are in the renal system, meaning that they have to get all the junk filtired out and get all the good filtered back into the vasculature.

Pressure within the glomerular capillaries depends on the flow of the blood.
