i also have a sluggy substance in my oil cap, i thought my head were probably cracked, but two of my automotive teachers from school said, that wasn't the problem. it was from the water not vaporizing right, or the pcv wasn't operating correctly

sounds like you might have some air trapped in the system.

Fluid level sensor is in the radiator side tank...usually by the filler neck. Could be a bad sensor or air in the system yet. A milky substance on your oil cap could very well be from condensed moisture in the oil caused by a poor PCV system or engine not warming up fully from making lots of short trips. A pressure test of the cooling system will indicate any head gasket problems.

Yes, I'd have to agree w/ the air being trapped in the system.

In order to get the air out of the sys. look thru the write-up below and follow the part of where they left the radiator cap off(w/ the engine cold) and watched the t-stat operate. In order to make sure the coolant level was full and most of the air had been pushed out.

Good luck!

there may be air trapped in the system or their could be a sensor gone bad on it,there is a low coolant sensor that detects if its low on coolant and if coolant doesn't get to it and trip it it will go off, that will give the low coolant light your seeing on it,have it checked,or check the coolant level in it,it may just be low on coolant for now, good luck on it.
