I know, "I" certainly don't believe it! If it were true then California wouldn't have had 80+ hospitals declare bankruptcy in a couple of years!

Do you think this article is nothing more than propaganda when it is evident that illegals go to the ER and don't pay their hospital bills back because there is no way to track them?

I've seen the numbers of illegals in the ER on occasions when I had to go there to have my daughter treated for a concussion and other ER necessary injuries. On one occasion we had to wait for 6 HOURS while they treated people with colds and other minor problems while she was doubled over in pain with what turned out to be appendicitis and she had to have emergency surgery. If she had had to wait much longer it would have burst.

No, I do not believe that article. Just the terminology in the article shows the bias in it. Any "research" can be slanted to show the results that people want them to be. LEGAL immigrants for the most part have access to medical insurance. It's part of what they are required to have as part of their legal status, they are not allowed to "live off the state" in any way. Just like LEGAL immigrants can't collect welfare or food stamps. Look it up if you don't believe that. Or you can ask the next LEGAL immigrant you meet.

Just last month Fox had the Administrators from the border state hospitals in an interview. To the person they claimed that the illegals were driving their hospitals into bankruptcy. One in particular from El Centro Regional Medical Center said they are about to close their E.R. because of the problem. The head of the Board of Supervisors for San Diego County said it is breaking the county. They spend nearly a billion a year on unreimbursed E.R. visits from illegals. If this is the same Ortega he is a militant and a member of La Razza. He believes that the Southwest should be taken back by Mexico

That's funny, but what HomeBiz said is not and true. I've been there and they had heart attack people and fellow with super high feverfrom an operation and a doctor told him to come in. I went and checked with the admin lady and she said that there were about 14 ahead and started passing them back under the window where I could see and about 6 were stomach aches, some cold and the like. It was really sad. I told them to take the sick people first and they said they could not. It was insane, so now people call an ambulance, that's what my friend doctor told him. It is insane and now looks like Bush is going to do what the special interest groups want, so get really 40-60 million new "instant" Americans. By the way the number comes from the 3 million that jump visas that we issue every year. We issue about 8-9 million a year and then when they expire folks fro all over the world hide out. So just under Bush and clinton and even at 2 million you are looking at another 30 million, then the fluffy number of "15 million". Take care. YOU ARE RIGHT, but thanks for the funny link.

It's a flat lie! I see too many illegals in ER, just sitting there and coughing, and getting in sooner than those throwing up and having to lay down, looking like they're about to faint! I am often in the ER due to when I get seizures, and am made to go. I've seen illegals there, all too often. I live in S. CA, and we're one of the states who have the most illegals, since we're right on the border. I even had a seizure again while waiting to be seen at the hospital while an illegal went before me! My mother was pissed! Illegals cost a single taxpayer more than most Americans realize. Please read the letter written by a school teacher below, to learn the facts about illegals and the cost to Americans.

That article is as twisted as the political arena running Illinois.

I am from this area and can guarantee that they get all kinds of free perks and are well hidden by the political leaders in our state - senators and governor. They wanted to give them a license to drive without insurance - there was no provision for insurance in their unConstitutional bill!

Illinois is flooded with illegals. IF there are less of them showing up at hospitals as opposed to legal Americans is because legal Americans are living in complete poverty from loss of their jobs to illegals who don't pay taxes - they can't because they're undocumented which makes going into hiding very easy since they don't have any real ID with them.

Legal Americans are trying to keep from loosing their house from bankruptcy since so many have lost their jobs to illegals. If these legal Americans tried to go to the hospital without insurance, the hospital would take their house for payment.

Someone once told me that Illinois, especially Chicago, is called "little mexico" because there are so many illegals here.

There is no way that since Blaggy, Obama and Durbin took over that all of these mexicans all of a sudden were let in ahead of other immigrants on long waiting lists from around the world and came here legally. Daley doesn't care as long as it's cheap labor to repair the roads and take care of government property - even though these illegals cannot pay taxes to support their wages and repairs to our roads and government property.

If this is what the Dems have to offer us for the next four years, there is no way I would consider voting for a Dem in the upcoming election. They lie telling you that they're against illegal invasion, then they look the other way because their end goal is for the North American Union - not for the sovereignty of the USA.

Someone needs to give the Illinois senators and governor a 'stupid' sign from the US citizens. How dumb can they be to think they can pull the wool over the eyes of those who are watching their country become mexico.

And no, I'm not prejudice against hispanics - just the illegals which is a high concentration of mexicans - whatever their race. When is ICE going to start doing what our tax dollars paid them to do?

If you actually read the article you'll realize what nonsense it is. The logic involved is "criminal immigrants use medical resources less than legal residents.. so they're not a burden"

It's equivalent logic to "that bum who breaks in and raids your fridge isn't doing anything wrong because he eats less of your food than your kid does"
