I would go with A even though it is a similie. Metaphor and similie are very close. Nothing else makes any sense to me

This is a poor question. A is a simile. It uses the word like so it is not a metaphor. C is just a statement. D is a wise statement or proverb. I guess it is B. If your teacher says it is A she is definitely wrong. Have her contrast the definition of simile to metaphor.
