Music/vocals aside, which song from your favorite band has your favorite lyrics.

I'm going to have to think on this one...

What's yours?

Oh geesh, you always ask the toughies... I think I may have a couple.
Working Class Hero - John Lennon
The Final Cut and Nobody Home - Pink Floyd
10 Years Gone and All My Love - Led Zeppelin

So much more but I just can't think of them... they're just so meaningful to me that I can't explain it. I can relate to a lot of Pink Floyd and a lot of John Lennon's music. They make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside... bahaha.

Edit: You're right, I didn't even think about Fearless. It's got amazing lyrics...

Well Patrick Park has this song called "Life is A Song"...its amazing..its about how people dont realize that life is so amazing and we should live each day to its full potential..

Another would be by Rocky Votolato..the song name is "White Daisy Passing" This song is just about time and love.

Lastly I would say ANY song by Straylight Run is lyrically amazing..the better songs would be "It's For the Best" and "your Name Here"

if you want more let me know..i have a ridiculous amoung of music like this

I love "Masterpiece" by Meg & Dia, this line especially:
"Done by the hands of a broken artist, you painted black where my naked heart is."

They're not my favorite band, but I'm going to post this anyway because it's my favorite song lyrically speaking of all time. From "Fell Down The Stairs" by Tilly And The Wall:
"And love just like blood will always stain." =]

Radio Free Earth - What the Blind Man Saw

One bright day in the middle of the night
Two dead boys got up to fight
Back to back they faced each other
Drew their swords and shot each other
A deaf policeman heard the noise
He came and killed those two dead boys
One bright day in the middle of the night

As I was walkin' up the stair
I saw a man who wasn't there
He wasn't there again today
Oh how I wish he'd go away

Jaybird sittin' on a hickory limb
He winked at me and I winked at him
His eyes were red and his teeth were green
Sat there pickin' on a tambourine

(chorus) One bright day in the middle of the night

A monkey and a flea and three blind mice
Sat on a curbstone shootin' dice
The monkey did a flip and fell on the flea
The flea said, "Whoops, there's a monkey on me"

A Twinkie and a Tastykake knockin' at the door
They just come from the mini-mart store
Granny went upstairs to get her gun
Should-a seen the Twinkie and the Tastykake run

(chorus) One bright day in the middle of the night

As I was walkin' down the street
Who do ya think I chanced to meet?
It was Godzilla and old King Kong
Stompin' on buildings and singin' a song

Red and blue and delicate green
The King can't catch it 'n' neither can the Queen
Bring it in the house through the 'lectric socket
Catch a rainbow and put it in your pocket

(chorus) One bright day in the middle of the night

If you don't believe these lies are true
Ask the blind man, he saw it too

i really like these lyrics from "im alive" by disturbed.....

"The thing I treasure most in life cannot be taken away
There will never be a reason why I will surrender to your advice
To change myself, I'd rather die
Though they will not understand
I won't make the greatest sacrifice
You can't predict where the outcome lies
You'll never take me alive
I'm alive
I'm alive
I'm alive

Fading, falling, lost in forever
Will I find a way to keep it together?
Am I strong enough to last through the weather in the hurricane of my life?
Can it be a conscious decision?
That I look for ways to alter my vision?
Am I speeding towards another collision in the alleyways of my life?"

I love the lyrics to any song by the Wallflowers. Jakob Dylan is an amazing songwriter. A lot of their songs make absolutely no sense when first heard, but when you go back and really listen, it's really awesome.
