And if you think they were actually told the truth (kind of like what Ron Paul does) would anybody get elected?

When you balance the fear tactics used by the republicans against the crippling political correctness rhetoric of the democrats, they come out about even.
People forget that the democrats were beating the war drums over Iraq just as loudly as the republicans. Look back at the pre-war speeches by both Clinton's, Kerry, etc, and the number of them that voted for this war and continue to fund it.
We're in Iraq because of all of them.

It does not matter,a lot of people vote straight party tickets regardless of where a candidate stands the issues.
Some people will switch vote (register as a dem.then vote repub.)
Some will vote a split ticket and vote for a candidate from different parties to fill a position.
The news media generally favors the democrats,if you want to hear from the republicans-you have to listen to radio stations that carry Rush Limbaugh and others like him.
The last 2 presidential elections showed a lot of dislike for both political parties, but went mostly republican because very few liked the dem. candidates.
Also the democrats are keeping their mouths shut on issues like gun control because that is one issue that helped defeat them the last 2 elections.
This time they are putting out a lot of things like universal health care coverage, but they haven't said how it will be paid for (higher taxes most likely).
M M's post refers to the wrong party, sorry guy it's the dems and the media

Depends on your philosophical base. Are you a Christian or are you an athiest or are you lost? If you're an athiest or lost, then dems ... all the way. Too bad the GOP only pretends to be moral! They definitely don't walk their talk. I think it's stoopid with a double o to identify with either party.

GOP. They elected Bush didn't they? I feel sorry for Ron Paul because I do think he's sincere, but that good ole boy "con club" will pull out all the stops before they will let him be nominated.

GOP propoganda. The media, liberally biased or not, constantly uses the GOP's rhetoric (for example, references to the "media elite" outnumber references to the "business elite" by 3:1 on CNN). If you only encountered phrases like "unapologetic liberal" or "liberal lefties" on FOX, you might not buy into that sort of BS, but because the mainstream media has picked up the Republican narrative, people believe it more often.
