Star Ocean: Till the End of Time: Glowing Panels??

In Star Ocean, there is one part where you enter a dragon dungeon and there are 9 panels in a cross. I lit them all up, but nothing happened. What am I supposed to do?

You must find the Dragon's Cranium and offer it while standing on the middle panel. To find the Dragon's Cranium, return to the entrance of the Ruins and look for the painting of the angry dragon on the east wall. Open the door using the flute and explore the lab. The Dragon's Cranium is inside one of the specimen jars on the shelves.
