I think Japan won last year they beat Cuba the US almost made it to the championship game but fell short

Ok everyone is getting these 2 confussed.
The World baseball Classic played last year was won by Japan over Cuba. The Us failed to make it passed pool play
the Baseball World Cup, antoher completely different event was won by the US over Cuba, 6-3.

Japan beat Cuba 10-6 in the finals. Korea and Mexico beat the US in the second round, so we did not even advance to the finals.

I didn't even think the United States were in it, but even without very much soruces, it looks like they were, and they won it.
