Take the watch to the nearest Rolex dealer who can tell you immediately whether it is real or fake. There are certain movements inside the case which are peculiar to Rolex alone.

This doesn't always work, but take it to the rolex store. I took my LV bag to the LV store and the guy working there examined it for free. Now, I have a real LV bag. When you go to the store try and tell the person working there as much as you know about it. If you kept the bag or reciept, bring that. If it was a gift, ask the person who bought it for you where s/he bought it. On a street corner? Ebay? The Rolex store? Look for a employee that is a bit older (35+) because s/he probably has more expierience in the field and tell s/he everything you know. I hope this helps!
