Everytime I listen to that song, I yearn to live in an octopus's garden because it just sounds so serene and wonderful.
What songs describe a place you'd like to be? For example...
Strawberry Fields? I'd totally live there...

Fonzie T - I'd have to say I'm jealous.

Sarah C - I really like that album, I wasn't sure if Gilmour solo stuff was going to be good because I didn't really care for The Division Bell, but I liked it! I too would like to go there though...

Freud would have something to say about that, I'm sure. Fonzie, I was at Woodstock, and have been since; the ground still vibrates! For me, the pictures conjured by Jimi have me drifting away. I painted a mural on a wall for a friend back in the early Seventies around the lyrics to "Are You Experienced" and was simply amazed at what had been planted in my mind by the song. I would still like to visit sometime.

Billy Joel's New York State of Mind..... oh wait, I already live there, darn, now I actually have to be creative.

David Gilmour's On An Island, it sounds so serene:
"Remember that night
White steps in the moonlight
They walked here too
Through empty playground, this ghosts' town
Children again, on rusting swings getting higher
Sharing a dream, on an island, it felt right"

I'm gonna be a bit mushy here, but whenever I listen to Enya's 'Caribbean Blue' I often imagine myself on a quiet island, lounging in a beach chair, and popping open a Corona...just like the commercial :)

The James Gang - 'Dreamin' in the Country' always seems to remind me of my youth. They were a hard rock band from the early 70's, but this song was slightly different from their usual. It's almost a sort of country ballad:

They were a great band!

i'd have to say the Dakota Apartments (if they still exist?) because it would be comforting to know that John, if his sprit/specter/whatever is still here, that he would be close by.........
