I love scary movies and Ive seen most of them. For the most part for the last 10-15 years they are all a disappointment. The ultimate scariest movie i have ever seen is called Salem's lot by stephen king. Its an older movie and I havent seen it in years so It could actually be cheesy compared to nowadays. I think it came out in the 70's.

I got really scared when I watched the first Ring, when the woman opened the door and the girl was all dried up with her mouth open. I was totally not expecting that and it gave me nightmares!

If you've never seen the original "Halloween," well . . . there you go. Still scary after all these years.

High Tension is a good choice. However Audition (Japanese) is also great and gruesome.
