I'm 40 years old and I love some of the cute outfits some of you have put together on polyvore! Just a few guidelines tho!

no straght leg jeans
no leggings
Like: Charlotte Russe, Gap, NY&C, or anything you come up with
Like: accessories, shoes and handbags too
I'm 5'6" and wear a size 8--slim waist
from the South-doesn't get too cold
want to look fashionable--but not like a teenager

Thanks!

All you need to do is:
get dark boot cut jeans
pair them with cute strappy high heels
get a blouse that flatters you and have it tailored if you want to

good luck:)

Leggings, tall boots and tunics seem to top the fall fashion looks in NYC, and are worn by all ages. But I have to admit, I think this look is little too avant gard for all but skinny twenty-somethings and teens. A smarter look for a mature woman is something classic and tailored. These never go out of style and can be appropriate for all occasions. I like the boot cut jeans and trousers with ankle boots, cropped and fitted jackets, long slim sweaters, and classic accessories, such as in purses and scarves. Gold, gemstone or high-end costume jewelry completes the look. I shop at Ann Taylor, Cold Water Creek and Gap. My look is casual/tailored and that's what I'm most comfortable wearing. I hate the "cutesy", baby-doll look on anyone over 12.

um..im confused
but try sum stockingz/ (legginz good) under skirts, and a nice tang top with a thin sweater over it, if u dont want to be too revealing= only in summer/ spring time

and then in the winter= hmm.....a nice cozy tight (not too tight) sweater, with a dangling scarf folded over ur neck and 2 ends of the scarf dangling down ur baq and ur font. then, wear a nice mathcing pair of hat, thats not too fuzzy, and some good leather jacket, or so. with mayb a tight black pants (dpending on the color or ur sweater and jacket) that fully covers ur socks atleast, and some nice matching pairs of shoes
lolz
hope i helped..or mayb i fell on the rong track..lolz
oh well, im still confused tho
