For the last 2 days he has been screaming. Now, he has JUST learned he CAN scream, but he is doing it for fun (I think?).

We hold him, play with him, give him his tylenol etc.

Is acting grumpy and loud normal when teething? Because when he got his first few teeth he was fine.

The new ones that are coming in are the top 2 and a molar (The doctor said the molar was coming in, I didnt just assume).

AND, what can I do to help a cranky baby. (Yes this is my first).

Also, he is biting his lip and making it bleed, what can I do to stop him from doing this, or is it normal?

Thank you so much.

AND ALSO, NO RUDE ANSWERS! Yes I have called his doctor, she said it was ALL normal, BUT I want advice from other parents.

Teething is great fun. Looks like you're starting early and your baby is not going to follow the typical teeth charts.

I like the cold washcloth in the freezer, let baby bite on that.

I only gave tylenol/motrin if he was really chewing on his thumb, and then only at night so he could sleep.

He just has to learn not to bite himself. Those teeth are super sharp.

Oh yea been there. My son was teething that early too. We got him those biter biscuits and those kept him from screaming quite a bit. Other than that the doctor gave me some ibuprofen which worked a bit better than Tylenol. And those little teethers that you can freeze are great. The one my son loved is one that you could refrigerate AND it vibrated when he bit down on it. That all together helped and I hope it helps you!

They make baby anbesol, you can use a Qtip to apply to his gumline...this is temporary relief. In the old old days, they used to deaden the pain with liquor rubbed on the same way. I'm just saying...not recommending.

The frozen washcloth is a great idea, they have those gelly teething rings, too, that you can freeze.

Can he eat popcicles yet? If so this would be great...bite sized pieces in a rubberized spoon. Or crushed ice.

Orajel helps. Or cold objects he can chew on, like those popfreeze things that are long plastic envelopes full of kool-aid that you freeze in the summer. My babies cut their teeth on my face. They'd chew on anything that came near. Sometimes a walk outside will distract the child enough to make him relax and sleep.

Take care!

it seems fast and furious and it is normal, you just have to get thru the next few days or week and all will return to normal...remember no sleep, no sex, no free time, baby on your hip...keep the tylenol handy, but only for fevers
( remember? no overdosing or trying to get him to sleep)
use frozen washclothes and frozen bagels, anyting frozen he can munch on..good luck...
