Russia has just announce a military build up. China will become very chumy with us.

They will always be second to the Enemies within our own Government.Notice everything is being handed to the countries that were our adversaries (up until the past 20 years or so)on a silver platter. When I say that were our adversaries ,it is perceived in our Graft filled Government that with free trade that they now love us.How naive of any one to trust other countries that are run by totalitarian Dictators that will sell body parts to other countries for profit,from their prisoners with AIDS and other horrible Diseases.

It's really up to them. The world could use a second capitalist giant to help drive the world economy. Economics in a capitalist world is NOT a zero sum game, so I for one would welcome the prosperity that would result from two friendly superpowers.
China is very ambitious though. Talking with some of my chineese college friends makes me a little on edge about it. We'll have to see how cool both our heads can remain.

It's inevitable, yes, which is why we'll need a North-American / South America/Europe alliance to counterbalance the growing economic power of China, Japan, Malaysia and India.

No. We are their biggest market and we're the reason why they are doing so well economically. Why would you shoot your cash cow? That makes no sense. They are an intelligent people and government no matter what their ideology. They know that without the U.S their economy would tank.

I think so. They have all the qualities:
-growing economy
-ravaged environment
-communism
-bad bad govt.
-will most probably build arms in the future

Their wealth can't be spent as it would collapse the dollar in which it is owed, hence the great irony.
