why was sherman selected as head coach for my aggies? his record does not seem in the least bit impressive to me. people say record in pros is different thant college but im still not convinced he's the right guy to turn this team around. do you think he will be able to compete in recruting with texas, ou, and LSU? all comments appreciated

He has ties to the school and really is a good coach. Will he be able to recruit against the "big" boys? Time will tell. With limited scholarships and younger recruits looking for early playing time, he may be able to compete.

did you guys see that the black community is mad that the aggies didnt interview a black coach for the job? the aggies must have already had coach sherman in mind and wanted him for a while. they should not have to go through the affirmative action formality if they already know who they want. If a college has its eyes set on someone(white or black or mexican or american indian ) then let that be the case. affirmative action is only dividing the country further.

He sucked as a pro coach, maybe he can make it as a college coach. Pete Carroll did ok after he left the pros.
