DDR2 is a newer technology that replaced DDR1 Does it makes sense to you to keep something old next to something that performs better?

Because the RAM is of different design. Like why doesn't a square fit in a round hole? You can only use one or the other depending on what your motherboard supports.

I assume your talking ram, one is faster than the other so if you wants a pc not to run go for it or supply more info?

the notches on the card are different therefore cannot be plugged in
