Ginevra itself is generally considered an Italian form of the Welsh name, but etymology lesson aside, I do quite like it. Classic and unexpected, not to mention quite flexible, given the wealth of nickname options (Ginny, Ginna, Gina, Eve, Evie, Neve, etc.). Lovely choice. :)

Go with the name Geneva. You can also call her Genny or Genna for short. Beautiful. I think Ginevra is too french or too much like Jennifer.

I like that it's completely unique, and I think by the time she is school-age the Harry Potter-ishness refrence will have worn off.
It's definetly a fun name!

I wouldn't. Even though the name iteself is OK, if a bit unusual, everyone will assume you picked it because of Potter.

I personally LOVE it!!! I like uncommon names though. 3 of my 4 kids have not-so-common names.

If you are going with a name that is not common I do infact like it. If you want to go with a name that is common then I would switch it to something else.

Sorry, but I would worry the child might get picked on at school.

Good luck though.

I found it hard to pronounce. Also you dont want to be constantly pronouncing it and spelling it out for people.
