Advise is a verb, in this case an action. To "advise" someone is the act of giving them "advice". Advice is a noun. It is the suggestions that you are giving the other person.

Advice is something given to someone in order to fix a problem they have.
"Don't let small things get you down. The only thing that matters is the present and the future. Don't dwell in the past."
ADVISE is when someone tells someone to do something that could be benificial to that person.
"I advise you to get an early start on your homework if you're going to go out tonight."
---Hope that helps!

To advise means to give advice.
Here are two examples that might help clarify those terms for you:
When you are asked to advise someone, hopefully the advice you give is beneficial to that person.
It is often difficult for a teenager to accept the advice that his parents give but they are always willing to advise him because he is their son and because they love him very much.

"advice" is the noun, and "advise" is the verb. Here are a few examples.
* The advice that eric gave hannah was useless.
* Please don't give eric bad advice.
* I don't need any advice from you, erica
The "c" in the final syllable of "advice" is like the "s" in "see", "sip", and "sat". Remember, the word "advice" is an uncountable noun. There is no word "advices". As for the verb "advise", the "s" is pronounced like the "z" in "zip", "zero", and "zoo".
