I really need to take a break from work but I've only got this weekend to relax. I don't want to use up my time with travelling somewhere far. What's the nearest beach I could go to from Manila/Quezon City?

my first thought would be in batanggas, Anilao or Calatagan. 2 or 3 hours drive only from manila/QC.

Well, there's always the Manila harbor - but you'd have to share with the squatters.
Seriously, there is a series of beaches in Nasugbu, SouthWest of Manila (go to Tagaytay, then west for about half an hour) ~ been there, and some are nice, some are not so much... you have your choice. âº

Go south and you'll see the fine beaches of Batangas. Go north and you'll find beaches in Olongapo. They're about 90km from Manila, give or take.
