I have a Dell Dimension 8300 with a 305w power supply
Do I need to upgrade my power supply to run this graphics card.

I've never had any problems with my power supply before.

Also, does any PC power supply work with any PC?

Thanks

The recommended is 300-400W, so yours is the bare minimum. If you have a lot of other stuff like floppy drive, MULTIPLE cd drive, many leds etc... you'll need higher; since you have a preconfiged dell, you probably don't need to upgrade

If you run two video cards, you need a min of 500W

Also, the power supply are ALMOST universal, except that some motherboards are special, and need either 20 or 24 pins; most PSU have both the 20 and 24 pin plug. some don't come with sata power cables, but you can also split a molex one on the PSU

I have an Asus EAX195PRO 256MB DDR3
It REQUIRES A MINIMUM OF 450 WATT POWER SUPPLY.You should not run it with anything less because you can cause unstable power to your components which could lead to permanent damage or component failure.
Get yourself a decent power supply, not a cheapo rated atleast 500 watts with a 12 rail.
Your 1950PRO requires its own individual power rail. If you are using molex connections, Don't run any other component off of that rail, dedicate it to your graphics card.

I would strongly recommend upgrading power supplies, and to answer your second question, power supplies are in fact universal.

It powers all the components. NO, 300Watts is not enough. You should buy at least 500 watts.

No...I don't think so. I'd go for a minimum of a 450w PS. If you're going to go Crossfire, you'll have to go 750w PS.

Generally, PS's are interchangeable.

It should work but the more watts the lesser chance it will break on you earlier.
